I provide one-on-one therapy in a supportive, safe, and non-judgmental environment. I work extensively with individuals with relationship issues, anxiety, and depression.
I have been actively practicing marriage and family therapy since 2012. I specialize in transition to adulthood issues including challenges in dating, career development, self-identity, and self-esteem. I also have worked extensively with professionals in the medical field who face unique challenges as a result of their work.
My approach to therapy is to "make it make sense". I believe that when you understand the origin and evolution of your struggles and place it within the context of your personality and family history, you will become more empowered in your own life. When you become the master of your own life, you will feel competent and capable to achieve your goals, overcome your struggles, and live life balanced and fulfilled.
I have a Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of Connecticut. I am a fully licensed Marriage and Family Therapist through the Massachusetts Board of Allied Mental Health and Human Service Professions. My license number is #1494. I am also a clinical member of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy.
All therapy sessions are confidential. That means that I do not speak to others about what we talk about in therapy. I take confidentiality very seriously and always prioritize protecting your privacy. All therapy clients have legally protected confidentiality through HIPAA regulations. HIPAA stands for Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act, and it protects anything that is part of your medical record. It also prevents any health provider from sharing protected information unless you provide permission and allows you to access your protected health information at any time.
I accept insurance and private pay. Currently, I accept Blue Cross Blue Shield, Tufts, and Allways insurance plans. For private pay clients, the fee for individual therapy is $175.
If you are unable to keep an appointment, you must give me 24 hours notice. Clients who cancel within 24 hours of their scheduled appointment time will be charged the full session fee of $175.

A: Being a private pay client is the only way to ensure complete privacy. Although I take steps to protect privacy for all clients, the reality of using insurance is that our sessions becomes part of your medical record. For all insurance clients I write notes after sessions, and I take great precaution to document the minimum amount of information required to be HIPAA compliant. Any client who is private pay will not have any written documentation become part of their medical record.
A: I work well with individuals who struggle with relationship and career issues. In addition, I have extensive experience with clients who need support exploring self-identity and building self-esteem. I also specialize in women transitioning to motherhood and women who are struggling with postpartum anxiety and depression. Lastly, I work with a significant number of professionals in the medical field.
A: The fee for an individual therapy session is $125. I do not offer a sliding fee scale unless in the case of extenuating circumstances with existing clients.
A: The simple answer is ABSOLUTELY NOT! My belief is that most people have areas of struggle in their life and could benefit from some extra support to help them navigate life's challenges. People typically go see a medical doctor every year for physical health, so why wouldn't people also go see a therapist every now and again for mental health? In fact, our minds and our bodies are so interconnected that you could even PREVENT illnesses and doctors visits by attending therapy and working through your emotional stress. It's not easy to change this stigma about mental health, but I absolutely believe that you are HUMAN and as a human, you can benefit from therapy.
A: I see myself as more of a teacher and coach than a therapist. I really try to help you learn more about yourself, your personal patterns, your relationship patterns, and your humanity in order to help you feel empowered in your life. I also would describe my style as supportive, non-judgmental, and safe. My hope is that therapy to be a space where you feel open to be vulnerable and authentic and that you always leave feeling better than when you came in.
A: For all clients, I am ethically and legally bound to report any disclosures regarding abuse of an elderly or disabled person, abuse of a child or minor, and in instances where a client discloses intent to harm themselves or someone else. It is my practice to always inform you, the client, if I have to break confidentiality for one of the aforementioned reasons. I believe that transparency is vital in such cases.
